AD PLANT ROSCOMMON

The Roscommon AD plant was constructed in partnership with Bioconstruct GMBH.  It is a 2 MW facility and has been operational since October 2017.

The plant utilises waste material (e.g. organic sludge and food waste) to produce 1 MW of electricity.  Additionally, a state-of-the-art on-site belt dryer uses heat from the CHP generators to dry the resultant digestate producing valuable nutrient rich organic fertilizer.

The plant plays an important role in the local economy and also provides a clean and totally renewable source of electricity to the national power grid.

Follow the story of it's construction in the videos below.

Would you like to tour the plant in person?  We organise tours for schools, universities and anyone interested in renewable energy. Book a tour to meet the team and find out how we convert waste to renewable energy..
