ABOUT BIOCORE

BioCore Environmental Ltd was founded in 2010 and is a leading company in Ireland's renewable energy sector. Our Anaerobic Digestion Plant in Roscommon produces biogas, electricity and a nutrient rich digestate.

RENEWABLE ENERGY

Our Anaerobic Digestion Plant in Roscommon currently produces 1MW of electricity and 3 million cubic meters of gas per year. Unlike wind or solar our power is available 24/7 7 days a week at the same rate regardless of wind or weather conditions.

AD DEVELOPMENT

Biocore's mission is to develop renewable energy projects focusing on Anaerobic Digestion. Our experience and resources allow us to provide a wide range of services to the renewable energy sector.

To date we have developed and operated two Anaerobic Digestion plants. The first in Suffolk, England, which produces biomethane with an output of 1,200 m3 per hour to the national grid. Our Roscommon plant utilises waste material to produce 1MW of electricity.

WASTE MANAGEMENT

As part of our Organic Waste Management we service a number of public and private clients, including Uisce Eireann. We follow a reuse, recycle philosophy by implementing sustainable management solutions.

NUTRICORE FERTILIZER

Our nutrient rich digestate is a by-product of the anaerobic digestion process and is rich in macro and micro nutrients.

We offer a full land spreading service with a professional Nutrient Management Plan for farmers all over Ireland.

ELLOUGH ANAEROBIC DIGESTION PLANT

Biocore completed construction of the 2nd largest gas to grid injection plant in the UK. The plant was constructed in conjunction with a biogas upgrading unit from GreenLane BioGas.

The plant utilises energy crop as a feedstock and in conjunction with local farmers and produces enough energy to heat over 50,000 homes. The plant is generating substantial revenues for the local community and has 5 full time jobs on site with many more in associated contracts.

In the last quarter of 2015 Biocore successfully completed a transaction with a UK based investment company to sell a majority stake in the development.

ROSCOMMON AD PLANT

The Roscommon AD plant was constructed in partnership with Bioconstruct GMBH. It is a 2 MW facility and has been operational since October 2017.

The plant utilises waste material (e.g. organic sludge and food waste) to produce 1 MW of electricity. Additionally, a state-of-the-art on-site belt dryer uses heat from the CHP generators to dry the resultant digestate producing valuable nutrient rich organic fertilizer.

The plant plays an important role in the local economy and also provides a clean and totally renewable source of electricity to the national power grid.

ORGANIC WASTE MANAGEMENT

Biocore Environmental Limited manages over 40,000t of dewatered sludges and over 20,000 cubic meters of liquid sludge. Our contracts cover both the public and private sector and we offer a full service from collection to disposal.

We have a number of sites strategically located throughout the country to enable us to offer a competitive price and we use both our own haulage collection equipment and our trusted haulage partners to provide an efficient service.

We accept fats, oils and greases as feed-stock at our AD Plant and our clients include several distilleries and dairies.
